A & P Leemhuis Builders was established in 1956 by Alex Leemhuis and his son Peter Leemhuis to service the Canberra and Southern NSW region. In 1976 the partnership ventured into the successful area of Commercial building, and have been consistently concentrating in this market ever since. In 2000, Peter’s son Darrell joined the partnership after having extensive experience in the commercial building industry in Canberra and Sydney.

In 2005, A & P Leemhuis Builders Pty Ltd was established, the principal directors being Peter Leemhuis and Darrell Leemhuis. The company currently employs 15 permanent staff in a number of rolls from Contract Procurement, Project Planners, Job and Site Foreman, Leading Hand Carpenters, Carpenters, Apprentices, Skilled and Unskilled labourers.

A & P Leemhuis Builders specialises in extensions and new tilt up concrete panel commercial buildings, office fit-outs, refurbishments and shop fittings, achieving a complete commercial building solution. Through past projects, A & P Leemhuis Builders have demonstrated thorough project management skills, from initial planning stages to the completed works, whether it is in new buildings, or existing buildings with high public access. In existing buildings, both tenants and the public have been kept informed of all progress minimizing any unnecessary disruptions to everyday operations.

A & P Leemhuis recently took out the category “Building more than $50 million” at the Master Builders Awards Night in 2016 for the 2 Leonora Street Fyshwick building built for Canberra Data Centre.
